Review policy
No article is published until a second person has checked its figures against the sources cited.
Before publication
The reviewer checks that every figure matches the cited source, that the source is current, that assumptions are stated, and that nothing reads as advice or as a recommendation of a specific supplier or product.
The article records its author, its reviewer, the publication date and the date of the last substantive update.
How often we revisit
Pages that quote prices, the Ofgem cap or grant schemes are reviewed each time the underlying figure changes, and at least every three months.
Explainers that do not depend on current prices are reviewed annually.
When something changes
A change of substance updates the updated date and, where the previous figure could have affected a decision, is recorded on the corrections page.
Named authors and reviewers appear on each article once the editorial team is assigned.
