Flow temperature explained

See how water temperature affects efficiency and radiator output.

Typical radiator temperature
  1. Heat-pump efficiency

    Good

  2. Radiator output vs a boiler

    About 37%

  3. Larger radiators or insulation

    Sometimes

A common heat-pump setting. Efficient, but some radiators may need to be bigger than with a boiler.

Radiator output uses the standard method for how output changes with water temperature, compared with about 70°C from a boiler. We don't show exact efficiency figures because they depend on the heat pump and the weather.
