What counts as a standard installation?
Makers usually mean a charger fixed to an outside wall near the parking space, with a short, simple cable route from the meter or consumer unit and no digging. Longer routes, trenches, separate posts and electrical upgrades cost extra and need an installer's survey.
Home charger grants
Renters, flat owners, landlords and households with only on-street parking (installing an approved cross-pavement solution) may get 75% of eligible costs, up to £500. The schemes are funded until 31 March 2027. Read more about home charging grants.
