How this estimate works

We estimate how much of your solar electricity you use as it is generated, how much a battery could store for the evening, and how much would be exported.

Being home in the day means more solar is used directly, which leaves less for a battery to add. Batteries lose a little energy when charging and discharging, and are more useful in summer than winter.

Electricity you use saves the import rate; exported electricity earns the export rate. Without a postcode, sunlight is based on central England with an east/west roof.
